Smarter and Safer: AI and Cybersecurity That Actually Pay Off

AI is no longer a future idea. Canadian small businesses are already using it to answer customers, write marketing, manage bookkeeping and save hours every week. But every new tool also opens a new door for scammers and hackers, and most small businesses have no IT department to protect them.

This panel cuts through the hype to show what is really working. Industry leaders in technology, software and cybersecurity will share which AI tools are delivering real results for small businesses today, what devices and software you need to run them well, and where you can save money. A business owner who has put AI to work will share what it changed, what it cost and what they would do differently.

The discussion then turns to protection. Panellists will explain the most common ways small businesses get hacked or scammed, and the simple steps any owner can take to secure their data, their accounts and their customers without hiring an IT team.

Attendees will leave knowing
01Which AI tools are worth paying for now, and which can wait
02What devices and software a small business needs to run AI well
03The most common cyber threats facing small businesses, and how to stop them
04Five security steps to set up this month, with no IT department required

Money Moves 2027: Funding, Cash Flow and Building a Team That Stays

Rising costs, tighter lending and a competitive hiring market are squeezing small businesses from every side. Many owners have a good business but struggle to get the funding they need, keep cash flowing through slow months, or find and keep the right people.

This panel brings together experts in banking, payroll and employee benefits to show owners how to build a stronger financial and people foundation. Lenders will explain exactly what they look for before saying yes to a loan, the most common reasons applications are turned down, and the funding options available to Canadian small businesses, from traditional loans to government-backed programs.

The conversation then moves to the people side of the business. Panellists will share how to avoid the payroll and HR mistakes that cost small businesses the most, and how to offer benefits that attract and keep good staff without breaking the budget. A business owner who grew their team through a tough year will share what worked and what they learned.

Attendees will leave knowing
01What lenders look for, and how to prepare an application that gets approved
02Simple cash-flow habits that carry a business through slow months
03The payroll and HR mistakes to avoid
04Affordable ways to hire, reward and keep great staff
